Born in the Netherlands, Bernard spent some years in Russia, where he met Tanya and entered the arts as a photographer and printmaker. He actively participated in cultural events in Moscow under the name Bee Flowers.
Changing his focus to sculpture, Bernard (Bee) felt a strong need to create physical artworks. He then received his Master’s degree from the Royal College of Art.
His wood and stone bas-reliefs (one of which made him a Bloomberg New Contemporaries artist in 2014) are suitable for classical and contemporary interiors alike.
The experience of work with a variety of materials now helps Bernard design furniture to fit seamlessly into Ter Hoeven Design's interiors when just the right items can’t be found.
